Your Questions about eloping in Sintra

Why choose Sintra for your elopement?

Sintra is known for its lush forests, misty hills, historic estates, and fairytale‑like atmosphere, making it ideal for couples who want a romantic and cinematic backdrop. The region offers a mix of nature and architecture within short distances, allowing for a varied and intimate elopement experience.

What’s the best time of year to elope in Sintra?

Spring and autumn provide comfortable temperatures and vibrant scenery, while summer can be busy but still workable with the right timing. Winter tends to be cooler and foggy, which can create dramatic and unique photos. Sintra has its own microclimate, so all seasons are possible depending on the mood you prefer.

What does an elopement day in Sintra look like?

Many couples choose a ceremony overlooking the hills or within a quiet natural setting, followed by photos around forests, palace exteriors, or scenic viewpoints. We design your schedule around sunrise or sunset for the best light. Your final timeline is shared once all logistics and vendor details are confirmed. In most cases, we also include a second location in the itinerary, often Lisbon or Cabo da Roca, to give you more variety and flexibility throughout the day.

How do you get around in Sintra?

Because Sintra’s landscape includes steep roads and forested paths, private transportation is required. Access to Sintra’s protected areas and specific viewpoints demands a licensed vehicle, so private transport is included in the package. Short walks may still be needed to reach the most scenic spots, and we design your itinerary to keep all transitions smooth and manageable.

How does the planning process work for a Sintra elopement?

After you book, your planner helps you choose ceremony locations, select vendors, and map out the flow of your day. As the date approaches, your coordinator finalises logistics and prepares your detailed schedule. On the day, the team guides each step to ensure your experience is relaxed and well organised.

What happens if it rains on our elopement day?

Sintra is known for occasional mist and drizzle, so we adjust the timeline to avoid the heaviest rain when possible. Covered options must be selected in advance, so we recommend choosing a Plan B location with shelter. Vendors remain flexible during the day, and we guide you through weather‑smart decisions to keep your experience running smoothly.

Who will be with us on the day?

You’ll have a dedicated coordinator managing the flow of the day from start to finish. Your photographer, celebrant, and any extra vendors you’ve booked join according to your chosen services.

Do you offer legal ceremonies in Sintra?

Most couples choose a symbolic ceremony, which offers more flexibility with timing and locations. Legal weddings are possible in Portugal but require specific documents and coordination with local authorities. We can explain the process during our first discovery call, if you wish to consider it.

How far in advance should we book our Sintra elopement?

Most couples book 6–12 months in advance, especially for spring and autumn dates. Summer is the busiest period in Sintra, so securing your date earlier is strongly recommended. Short‑notice dates may still be possible depending on availability.

How do payments and instalments work?

A deposit secures your date, and the remaining balance is divided into simple instalments outlined clearly at booking.

When will we receive our photos and video?

Your full gallery is delivered within 6 months, although many couples receive their photos and videos earlier. Generally, photos arrive in 2–3 months and videos in 4–6 months, with express delivery available from some vendors.
